Guru Purnima is celebrated by Hindus, Jains, and Buddhists in some countries of South Asia such as India, Nepal, and Bhutan.  Guru Purnima is gratitude by the disciples for their spiritual guru.  A spiritual guru plays an important role in human life.  He guides his disciples on the best way to live life and complete liberation.  Therefore, Guru Poornima has great importance for Indian academics and scholars.  According to some Sanskrit scholars, "guru" is translated as "redress of darkness". Knowledge is not attained without a Guru when real Guru is attained, then all kinds of darkness disappear from life.
Therefore the term, usually, refers to a spiritual guide who enlightens his disciples through his true spiritual knowledge.

 4. Identification and characteristics of the true Guru in the holy Vedas and scriptures

In holy Vedas

 i. There is evidence in the Vedas that the one who will be the savior of the world, (the complete saint), he performs and makes the worship of three times.  In the morning and evening, he praises the Supreme God and asks to praise all the gods of the world in the mid-day.
Evidence: - Rigveda Mandal no.  8 Sukta 1 Mantra 9 and Yajurveda Chapter 19 Mantra 26.

ii. In the Yajurveda chapter 40 Mantra 10, it is said that someone who is born as 'Sambhwat' like Rama-Krishna, or someone who is not born as 'Asambhwat' means, is considered formless.
But; the real truth can only be revealed by the 'saintly' saintly saint.

In the Srimad Bhagwat Gita, the explanation of complete Guru (complete saint, Satguru) is told as

  1.  In Gita Chapter 4 Verse 34, the Gita tells the knowledge giver Arjuna that Arjuna!  The knowledge of all the rituals is with the saintly saint, on worshiping them and leaving treachery and doing devotion, those saintly saints (full gurus) will impart knowledge to you.
  2.  Gita Chapter 15 verses 1–4 describe the identity of the metaphysical saint.
  3. The saint will divide all parts of the peepal tree like the world.  He is a saintly saint.  That is, the perfect Guru is Satguru.
  4.  According to Gita what is the Bhakti Vidhi of the complete divine?

The Gita chapter 17 verse 23 states that the basic mantra of the complete God is ॐ, Tatta, Sat.
All the information about it is only kept by the complete saint (Satguru).

In Holy Quran Sharif

According to the Quran Sharif Surat Farkani 25 verse 59, Allah created what he built between the land and the sky in 6 days and then sat on the throne.  Ask any news about it.
That Bakhabar (true Guru, Satguru) is aware of that Allah.

Shri Nanak Dev ji has also told about the symptom of Satguru.

“soee guru poora kahaave,jo do akhkhar ka bhed bataave”

Satguru Will tell the difference of two Akkhar i.e. Satnam.  He will be the complete guru.

Evidence in Satguru Garibdas ji's speech -

“gareeb, sataguroo ke lakshan kahoon, madhure bain vinod.chaar ved chhah shaastra, kah athaarah bodh”

Garibdas Ji has revealed the identity of the Guru that the true Guru, i.e. Satguru, gives such knowledge that his words make the soul rejoice, they seem very sweet because they are based on truth.  The reason is that Satguru elaborates on the knowledge of the four Vedas and all the scriptures.

Symptoms of Guru are described in the Micro Veda (Kabir Bijak): -

Supreme God Kabir Ji has given the same evidence in
Sukshmved, Kabir Sagar, Chapter “Jeev Dharm Bodh” on Page 1960: -

Guru ke lakshan chaar bakhana, pratham ved shastra ko gyana ||Doojey Hari bhakti man karm baani, teesrey samdrishti kar jaani ||Chauthey ved vidhi sab karma, yeh chaar Guru gun jano marma |

Simplification: - Supreme God Kabir Ji has stated that a true guru has four main characteristics:-

  1.  He properly understands all the Vedas and holy books.
  2.  He himself also does Bhakti with mind-action-word, that is, there is no difference in his speech and action.
  3. The third characteristic is that he treats all the disciples equally. He does not discriminate.
  4. The fourth characteristic is that he himself performs and makes others perform all the acts of bhakti (worship) according to the Vedas (everybody knows about the four Vedas 1. Rigved, 2.Yajurved, 3. Samved, 4. Atharvaveda, and the fifth Ved is Sukshmved; all these Vedas).

So today we are all educated, so we can decide it with our discretion. Our scriptures are our foundation and proof.
Whoever has told the identity of the true Satguru in our scriptures, at present, that true Guru Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj is the only one who fulfills all these things.

 5. These-days, who is the complete Guru (Satguru)...?

Today, Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj is the same complete Guru (Satguru).  A real seeker should choose a true spiritual guru (Satguru) not only on the basis of feelings but on the spiritual knowledge of all the sacred scriptures like Veda, Gita, Quran, Guru Granth Sahib and Bible.
Today, that complete Guru is Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj.  He has all these qualifications of Satguru.  He is the incarnation of Lord Kabir.
Only Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj explains spiritual knowledge based on scripture and gives the right to worship the right mantra and right way to the devotee's society.  But the devotee should follow the path as instructed by the Guru, do devotion in moderation.  Because it is the path to attaining true God and complete salvation.  Their way of worship also proves to end the worldly sufferings of their true devotees.
